Suspended Sound, Stair is a spatio-phenomenal intervention that challenges occupants’ perception of a particularly reverberant stairwell by creating a gradient of sound absorption and accentuating color temperatures of existing light conditions through the accumulation of semi-transparent fabric.
This project, which spans four floors, was successfully funded by a Kickstarter campaign and completed with the help of a structural engineer, acoustical engineer, and the Harvard Graduate School of Design Building Services.
